Laura Cantu
Laura Cantu joined the ESC-2 in the Center for Teaching and Learning this summer 2009, as the Special Education Childhood-Autism Consultant. She has spent her last 16 years in the area of Special Education as a Resource Teacher and Special Education Chairperson-ARD Facilitator. Laura received her Bachelor of Science degree from Tarleton State University and her teaching certification through the ESC-2, Educator Preparation and Certification Program. She holds a Masters degree in Educational Administration from Texas A&M Corpus Christi and is certified in special education PK-12 and principalship all levels. She provides staff development and coordinated assistance to educators, parents and community members. As the Autism Consultant, Laura will oversee the organization and delivery of the State Autism Conference.

Cyndi Vela has been with the Education Service Center Region 2 as an administrative assistant since 2005. Her time at the Center for Teaching & Learning has been spent working directly with consultants in quite a few areas of Special Education. Cyndi presents an affluence of knowledge and consistency to the State Autism Conference.
